— Questions and Answers —
Q: Are all of the photographs shown in the studio's advertising done by the
photographers who will be photographing my session or wedding, or does the
studio have assistants or temporary help who will be doing my photos?
A: We have two dedicated staff photographers that take part in every photo
shoot. We have no assistant photographers.
Q: What are the qualifications of the photographers?
A: Ted Pillera is a Certified Professional Photographer through the
Professional Photographers of America. "Certified Professional
Photographer" is a designation granted by Photographic Certification
Commission, the worlds leading certification agency for imaging professionals.
Those who have earned the Certified Professional Photographer designation
have passed a comprehensive written examination measuring their technical
expertise, and have successfully submitted their work to a panel of judges for
review and approval. For more information go to the
PPA
website.
Q: Do the photographers meet with me to determine my needs and the type of
portraits that I want created, and are they willing to work with my ideas?
A: Absolutely! We welcome your ideas and will definitely try to use them in
your photo shoot.
Q: If I want outdoor portraits, will the photographers shoot outdoors?
A: Yes, and we will travel within 50 miles of our studio for weddings at no
extra charge.
Q: Do you shoot in digital or film format?
A: All of our shots are done in digital format with the latest and best
cameras and lenses available.
Q: Does digital produce equivalent quality to film format?
A: Yes - Most leading photographers are switching over to digital for many
reasons (excellent quality, processing, archiving). We also shoot in RAW format
which provides the best quality images available. You can find more information
in articles on the Internet.
Q: Are the prints made from digital images as good as film prints?
A: Yes - Standard prints are done on Kodak and Fuji Professional Digital
Crystal Archive Photographic Paper. The quality and stability of these products
are unsurpassed in the photographic finishing industry.
Q: How long will it take to view my images after the photo shoot?
A: For weddings allow up to four weeks for your images to be posted on our
secure website for viewing.
For individual portrait sessions photos can be viewed (and potentially
ordered) immediately after the photo shoot. Proofs online, on CD, or prints are
typically available for viewing within 5 working days after the shoot.
Q: How long will it take to receive my finished photographs once I place my
order?
A: Usually prints are received and ready to pick up within three weeks of
the placement of your order. Exceptions may apply during busy seasons or with
special orders.
Q: Is there a backup plan in the event that equipment failure occurs during
my wedding?
A: Yes - For weddings we bring multiple cameras, lenses, flash units, and
memory cards. Our memory cards are backed up onto a portable hard-drive unit on
location to prevent possible loss of data.
In addition we back up all of our image files on three separate hard drives
(one in safe deposit) and archive them on CD/DVD media. This protects your
wedding or event images for a lifetime.
Q: Is there a backup plan in the event that the photographers are sick or
unable to perform?
A: Yes - It is very unlikely that both photographers would be unavailable,
however through our affiliation with local professional photography
organizations we would have resources available to cover for one or both of us
in the event of a last minute emergency.
Q: Do you offer other services such as framing for my photographs?
A: Yes - we offer high-quality framing at very reasonable pricing.
Q: What photo special effects are offered?
A: We offer special effects such as hand tinting and special borders on a
per quote basis. In addition, any color photo can be converted to black and
white or sepia and we will do this on request at no extra charge.
Q: Are there options on the types of textures and backing on my prints?
A: Yes - we offer many selections of print textures and mountings.
Q: What is the studio policy if I am not happy with my pictures?
A: We have a Risk-free Satisfaction Guarantee to
make sure that you are completely happy with your pictures.
